Although the natural world brings me often to tears, for most of my life I could not paint a landscape because it was just too overwhelming. I felt inadequate to convey what began with the emotional response to what I observed in the environment on to the limited surface of my canvas. I turned instead to small pieces of creation, moments in space and time, manageable bits of the awesome. I am working on it.
